Portal Help
Log in, get set up, and get the most out of your Springfield Clinic patient portal.
Passwords need an uppercase letter, a number, and 8–72 characters.
Account Setup
We recommend the web-browser version of the portal — even on your phone — for the full experience. The athenaPatient app is great for quick looks at appointments, results and bills.
You'll receive an email invitation after your visit. Click the link, confirm your identity with your date of birth, and set a password to finish.
Go to the log-in page, enter your email and password, and complete any two-step verification you've turned on.
Under Account Settings, choose how you'd like to hear from us — email, text or both — for appointments, results and messages.
Select "Forgot password" on the log-in screen. Your new password needs an uppercase letter, a number, and 8–72 characters.
In Security settings, turn on multi-factor authentication to add a one-time code to each log-in.
Messaging Your Care Team
Securely message your established Springfield Clinic care teams — or our Patient Advocate Center — right from the portal, any time of day.
From your portal home screen, choose Messages, select your care team from the drop-down, write your note and send.
In the athenaPatient app, tap Messages, pick your care team and send — attachments included.
Select the Patient Advocate Center from the messaging drop-down for help with billing, records or navigating your care.
If a provider you've seen in the last three years isn't listed, submit a Provider Connection Request and we'll add them to your account.
Visit Notes
As of August 2025, every provider's notes live under "Visit Notes." Each visit shows a detailed Medical Care Record and a brief Patient Care Summary — and you'll still get the "We took notes for you" email.
The Patient Care Summary is a short overview of your visit; the Medical Care Record holds your provider's full, detailed notes.
Log in through a browser and open Visit Notes — every past note now lives there, no more searching through Forms & Documents.
Click the "We took notes for you" email after your appointment and follow the link straight to your notes.
Open athenaPatient, tap your visit and select View Notes.
Paying Your Bill
The Billing & Payments section holds your statements, saved payment methods and the insurance we have on file.
Open Billing & Payments, review your balance, choose a payment method and confirm.
Adolescent billing is handled separately for privacy — use Guest Pay with the account number from the statement.
Choose Guest Pay from the log-in screen and enter the account number printed on your statement.
All current and past statements live under Billing & Payments → Statements.
In Billing preferences, opt out of paper statements to receive them online only.
