Originally from El Paso, Illinois, Tyler Evans, MD, FACS, is a Presidential Scholar and Summa Cum Laude graduate of Illinois State University, where he majored in biochemistry and molecular biology.
Dr. Evans earned his medical degree from the University of Illinois Chicago, then completed a six-year integrated residency in plastic, aesthetic and reconstructive surgery at Indiana University in Indianapolis. Drawn to the intricacy of the hand, he went on to complete an additional orthopedic fellowship in hand and upper extremity at The Ohio State University in Columbus.
Dr. Evans brings a unique background to central Illinois with his combined plastic and orthopedic surgery training. Providing "head to toe" reconstructive expertise alongside extensive hand and upper extremity training, he creates up-to-date, minimally invasive care plans for each of his patients.
Beyond reconstructive and hand surgery, he also offers advanced anti-aging treatments — including neuromodulators, lasers, peels, injectable fillers and medical-grade skin care — as well as aesthetic surgeries such as mommy makeovers, breast augmentation and lifts, breast reductions, facelifts, rhinoplasty and eyelid surgery.
An active learner, Dr. Evans is always researching new ways to push the envelope for better outcomes. He takes time to listen and understand each patient's concerns, bringing a holistic approach to his surgical care. He performs the majority of his procedures at Springfield Clinic's AAAHC-accredited office facility in Peoria Heights and at the Springfield Clinic Peoria Surgery Center.
